We always want to offer our community of walkers the best experiences possible, and by giving our gurus constant support from the GuruWalk team. Our mission is for walkers to always enjoy doing a guruwalk so that it becomes their favorite activity when traveling to destinations around the world.
3 base criteria have been established in order to verify quality, in which key elements have to be incorporated by our gurus to achieve our mission.
- The guru’s good attitude
Gurus have to be professional, positive, kind and respectful with travelers. Before or after the tour, they have to keep this attitude when they are communicating with them or replying to their opinions. During the tour, they have to connect with travelers and become more than a guide: moreover, their city's ambassador and the travelers' new local friend.
- Good organization and management of the guruwalk
Gurus have to manage their bookings and their tour in a professional way and understand the use of the platform well. They have the ability to adapt to unforeseen events (rain, older travelers, ...) and always make sure the traveler has the best time possible. Meeting this criterion entails complying with the cancellation policy, which we explain in more detail here.
- Incredible experiences
On one hand, gurus are experts in the topics that they explain during their experiences: they give their personal touch, unique knowledge and recommendations, always sharing truthful and enlightening explanations. On the other hand, they are experts who know best how to share their knowledge with travelers, doing it in a fun and entertaining way, adapting to their audience.
How is a guruwalk’s quality monitored?
We have a quality metric for each guru in our internal system. To measure traveler satisfaction, we take into account several factors such as the number of opinions published on the guru’s profile and the overall rating of the tour. The latter is equal to the average of all the opinions published by travelers on the tour page. In addition, we also receive private comments from travelers that we also share with the gurus when relevant.
If these quality parameters are not met, GuruWalk reserves the right to close these tours on the platform.
How to improve a tour’s quality?
The easiest way is to take into account the traveler’s opinions and ask for feedback by message after the tour. There is always something to improve.
Gurus can count on the support of thousands of other gurus by asking their questions in our Facebook group. This sense of community to support and improve together is part of the essence of GuruWalk. We also have a blog and a YouTube channel with lots of content that we are updating with the best advice that gurus give us.
If they want, gurus can also ask for advice from our colleague Bernard (email@example.com), who has been a guide and will gladly support our gurus.
